A young sperm (heh) whale was found washed ashore on the southeast coast of Spain with 64 pounds of plastic trash, garbage bags, and fish netting in its stomach and intestines, which is speculated to be the cause of death for the 33-foot long whale. What an idiot, right?
“Plastic waste in our oceans is one of the biggest threats to the conservation of wildlife throughout the world. Many sea creatures mistake the plastic for food, and it’s killing sea life as we speak.” explained Dr. Manuel Costas, conservation biologist.
Sounds like what’s really killing sea creatures is being fucking stupid. Plastic isn’t food, dummy! What kind of idiot just swims around thinking plastic waste is food?
“It’s very easy for the animal to mistake plastic waste for giant squid, its main food source, and as the plastic accumulates, it develops an abdominal infection called peritonitis. It what happens when the animal can’t digest the food it eats. Really nasty stuff. If something doesn’t change fast, we’re going to see more animals like the sperm whale reach endangered status” said Dr. Costas.
It sounds like what’s really needs to change is how dumb these sea creatures are. No wonder so many of them are dying! If you eat trash like a big dumb idiot, this is exactly what happens. Perhaps we should start labeling all of our plastics, “NOT FOOD” so these dumb fucking idiot whales will know the difference.
